In KS1 and KS2 we use the White Rose Maths Schemes of work as well as NCETM resources (Including the Mastery programme in FS, Year 1 and Y2) and 'I see Maths' problems to create lessons which ensure children gain the understanding and knowledge they need to become confident mathematicians. 

We are part of the Yorkshire and Humber Maths Hub Embedding Teaching and Learning Research group which supports us in creating maths lessons based on small steps of learning, that include variation and challenge misconceptions. We believe that every hild can do maths and, following modelling and guided teaching, our children progress as far as they can with independent tasks which allow them to apply their knowledge in different contexts. 

We cover the following topics in maths throughout the year and constatntly revisit and review concepts to ensure knowledge is embedded. 

• Number and place value
• Calculations
• Fractions
• Measurement
• Geometry- Properties of shapes
• Geometry- Position and direction
• Statistics
