Tiger class have homework set every term.

The children will receive a grid with homework on this term. The grid will have 9 activities, including reading 3 times a week and practicing spellings. We will then ask for any activities to be back at the end of the term and award grades accordingly.

The children are expected to read their reading books a minimum of 3 times a week for ten minutes and record an entry for each session they read in their reading diary. They should record this themselves, it can be as simple as they are enjoying the book or it is boring, what bit they liked reading or any words they struggled with.

We are not doing weekly spelling tests this year however the children will have daily spelling lessons and will be quizzed on the year 3 expected spellings. These will then go home so parents can see what the chilren need to practice. Can you ensure your children practice these spellings.

In preparation for year 4 we will be pushing learning multiplications. It would be very useful for the chilren to practice all the tables facts.

Please encourage the children to complete their homework and reading diary independently.
