In July 2024, we were delighted to be awarded the Lincolnshire Bronze Reading Pledge Award and in September 2025, we gained our Silver award! We are now working towards the Gold Reading Pledge. 

As a school, we wish to develop every child's love of reading. Our teachers are building up their knowledge of children's authors and different book genres in order to recommend texts for children to read. We have a wide selection of fiction and non fiction books in our Bookflix library boxes which children can choose from and take home. 

We have planned reading times every day where we share texts and allow children to read for pleasure. Every classroom has a reading area. We celebrate World Book Day and have a Literacy week each year when we focus on a particular area of reading, such as vocabulary and different authors, such as Shakespeare.
